Lip - GENERAL DE GAULLE CLASSIC 35 MM - Silver Automatic
This iconic watch from LIP is a true icon of French watchmaking. It was, in fact, the first to operate with a quartz movement. It was in the name of this French "high" technology that General de Gaulle proudly wore this creation on his wrist to promote national ingenuity. Legend has it, however, that the General asked the Besançon-based company to double the hour markers so he wouldn't need to put on his glasses to read the time... The Lip manufacture thus became the official supplier to presidents.
You can admire the automatic movement through the screw-down transparent case back. Its 35mm case and lugs are gold-plated and polished. This unisex, vintage-inspired model features a sunburst silver-white dial, three hands, and a date display. It comes on a handsome brown crocodile-embossed calfskin leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and a gold-plated LIP-branded pin buckle. A Lip timepiece designed for all lovers of vintage style and history.
