LIP - GENERAL DE GAULLE CLASSIC 35 MM - Gold and Rifle Barrel
This iconic watch from the LIP company is a true icon of French watchmaking. It was, in fact, the first to operate with a quartz movement, hence the somewhat antiquated inscription on the dial: "electronic." It was in the name of this "high" French technology that General de Gaulle proudly wore this creation on his wrist to promote national ingenuity. Legend has it, however, that the General asked the Besançon-based firm to double the hour markers so he wouldn't need to put on his glasses to read the time... The Lip manufacture thus became the supplier to presidents.
This polished 35mm stainless steel case has become increasingly popular over time. A revisited vintage model, with a slightly silvered sunburst white dial, it features three-hand functions and a date display. Its timeless design is sure to impress. The silver Lip De Gaulle is fitted with a handsome black crocodile-embossed leather strap and a chrome pin buckle.
